It seems as though, our country is missing a JFK in congress as there has always been a Kennedy in the Congress. The article I found on "Boston.Com" speaks of his motivational speach back in 1962 which gave Americans a feeling of Patriotism and idealism. In this speech he gave, he gave birth to the phrase, "ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country?" I think that this phrase helped a lot of Americans see that workin together as a Country would benefit everyone in this Country. In reading about President Kennedy, who was far before my time, it seems to me as though he was a special kind of person as well as President of the United States. He really believed in our Country.
In reading an article from abcnews.com/politics, it discusses what a wonderful man that he was, how he remembered the names of everyone he met, he was a personable man. He not only cared about this Country, he cared for the people that made up this Country. It's sad to see that public service is not held in the same light that it once was. When Kennedy was President, he encouraged the people of our Country to join public services, such as the peace corp. They say he was a public servant his whole life, by choice. Which I think is a wonderful thing, to see someone with money and power donate their time and life to the public, just because they truly want to make a difference in the world.
Coming from a background that never concentrated or paid any mind to the politics of our Country, reading the articles about what a wonderful man he was, I wonder why our Country has not tried to find a similar Preisdent to fill his shoes? Is there not another person who honestly believes in our Country and all that it stands for?

My personal profile
My name is Jillian Goodman, I was born and raised in Southbury Ct, with a little bit of Danbury Ct thrown in there. I have a daughter who is going to be one on February 10th. She has become my whole world, I hate to leave her behind even just to go to class or work, which is why I left my day job and only work the minimum hours required to survive. She is the one of the main reasons I have decided I want to become an English teacher. English has always been a interesting subject for me, in which I've always done well in, and with her going to school by the time I'm done getting certified I can get a schedule close to hers to be able to spend the maximum amount of time with her. I went to the Alternative Center For Education for highschool, which is literally right up the street from campus. I learned alot about my studies, but I learned so much more about life. Going to that school showed me a lot more than just algebra and history. They taught you what it took to live in the world, they helped you figure out what kind of person you wanted to be, they dedicated a huge portion of their time and life to the students in that school. I graduated in 2003 and have been back every year, whether it be for volunteering my time with the students, helping out with fundraisers, or getting tutored by my teachers to aid in my pursuit in college. It takes a lot to be a teacher, but I honestly believe it takes a lot more to become an A.C.E. teacher. Between that school and the difficult childhood I've had, I've been shaped into a very strong individual who lives for her daughter. If you met me ten years ago you wouldn't believe the difference between now and then. I wasn't a bad person at all, just didn't have priorities in order and had no desire to have children. When my daughter was on her way, I decided right then and there that my life was going to change and I was going to build my world around her. If she didn't fit into an aspect of my life than that aspect would be eliminated immediately, no questions asked. I've always been driven by myself to do the very best that I can, however, now that I have her, it makes my drive that much harder. I will always be endebted to her for how far she has pushed me and what a better person I've become since she came into my life. I also need to give credit to my boyfriend, when I met him I was far from where I am today, he gave me support, in every way possible, he showed me a better way of life. He helped me decide my future, just by being there and listening to me. He is my anchor that keeps me sane, and a wonderful father and boyfriend. My life is always insane but always, always worth the ride.
