Level 100 courses
Ok, so not that level 100 courses are supposed to be easy, however, i am taking intro to sociology, and we have 4 exams not including the final, we have to write 28 articles on topics from the new york times, on how those articles relate to society, on top of that project, we have a research paper that is due at the end of the semester. I haven't done this much work in my level 200 courses.... And those two projects that we do on top of exams, the projects are barely worth a combined 20% of my final grade. The final is worth 40% and each other exam is worth 10% of the final grade. Really what is this man thinking? On top of all of this, he flunked 80% of the class for midterm grades and speaking with students who have previously taken him, they say this is common and at the end of the semester he curves it a lot and makes the projects worth more. Can he do this? I mean obviously he can, but i mean 80% fail at the beginning and then at the end he makes sure everyone passes? Kind of silly.

My friend, The soldier
My friend Chris is serving our country, risking his life for ours. He fights for all our freedom that we all complain about every day that we deserve. Now our country has stopped paying him for the time being in order to save money on other things. How is he supposed to provide for his wife, his daughter and new child on the way? I think our country owes him a lot more than that. Not just him, all the other men and woman that risk their very lives in order for us to have our freedom. They are under appreciated as is and now our country is basically telling them how much more they are under appreciated. I think something should be done to provide for those that serve their country and their families! They value our lives enough to protect them, its about time we valued the lives of them and their family. Our country has gone down the tubes and it's all about "me", there is no "us" or "we", its only "me, me, me!" I don't have all the details on the exact reason or time frame those that serve their country will not be getting paid, as I don't watch the news and what not, but from seeing things on facebook from the families of my dear friends that serve our country, it breaks my heart to see the rough time that they are going through. I ask everyone single one of you that read this to help those who make your freedoms a possiblity, take time out of your days to appreciate them, and if you have the means, please send care packages and any kind of donation to help those troops in need without a pay check.
Women's Nitro Football Team
The Nitro is on a roll, they have won both of the games that they have played in their annaugral season! They have been so determined and have done very well for themselves. They have large turnouts at their games as well. When I attended their first game of their season there had to be quite a few hundred people who showed up to watch them crush the new england nightmares! Go Nitro!
Toddlers
Getting a bunch of toddlers together is almost as interesting as getting a bunch of drunk people together. ( remember I am a bartender, which is why i can relate the two lol) A week ago i took my 14 month old to a birthday party for a 1 year old, there were about 4 other toddlers there all around the same age. So there was a total of 6 toddlers, only two of which were walking. Well, after the other 4 toddlers saw their friends moving at such a fast pace, they all decided it was about time to attempt the same. We ended up with all 6 toddlers holding on the walls and walking rapidly like they had somewhere to go. My daughter was refusing to start walking because she knew that mommy would carry her wherever she went, but now that she realized she can get herself places a lot faster if she doesnt wait for me to come pick her up she has been on the go nonstop holding on to the walls and going! It's been amazing. She actually took her first 4 steps walking with out holding on to anything last thursday. So exciting!
Cooking with Poala
While I did not take a lot away from this event, I found her words to be easy flowing and easy to listen to. However it was not something that tickled my fancy where I would go and pick up a copy of her upcoming book and decide to read it. I thought it very off to write such things about cooking, about burning everything. I think it takes someone very inciteful to be able to write about cooking and buring food in such a way that it was slightly interesting. Yet it was not something I could take interest in or understand the hidden meaning if there even was one.
Registration on campus
Well, let me tell you, as a very educated person on the inner workings of registration on campus, it never fails to amaze me how the advisors make huge mistakes. This is my first semester at WCSU, going to register for my second semester, i was told they have been in the process of phasing out my major. Now why in gods name would you let me enrol in school with that major if they were phasing it out? So now I have wasted time in classes I don't need and cant use as an elective because I already had too many. So now I will be in school an entire year longer that I needed to be thanks to the wonderful advisement here at WCSU. There needs to be a better way of getting advisement. On top of that some how admissions put a hold on my account so i couldn't register and there was no reason for the hold according to admissions, so when they removed the hold the classes i needed to take because of my schedule at work and with my almost 15 month old daughter were full and my advisor would not over ride me even tho they were full at no fault of my own. So thank you advisors for messing that up for me, on top of that he even told me he didnt see how i would ever manage to graduate with such restrictions. I am pretty sure many parents with young children were able to graduate while working. I was pretty upset with the discouragement i was given. Time for a new advisor.

Sniffing bath salt?
As I read an article online today, I was completely surprised that college students would sniff/smoke/inject BATH SALT into their bodies!! Just to get high! In further reading, it explained that it causes hallucinations, extreme paranoia, aggression, and can cause seizures among other things. College students in Florida were doing this. The bath salt is made in china, and sold in stores right next to the energy drinks and are called things like Vanilla sky and Pure Vanilla. This drug is very dangerous and officials in Florida have filled an emergency bill that is to prohibit the sales of such a drug and the penalty for being caught on, or having this on you will carry the same weight as heroin or cocaine use and distribution. Up to five years in prison to be more exact. What on earth are these college students thinking? I thought the majority of college students had to be slightly intelligent after making the decision to go to college in the first place, boy was I wrong.
